How to Find Someone’s IP on Aim
An IP address (Internet Protocol) is a numeric that identifies a computer and specifies its location on a TCP/IP-based network such as the Internet. It is possible to identify the sender or recipient of information over the Internet using IP addresses. You can get the IP address of a person while chatting with her on an instant messenger. This method of finding IP addresses is particularly useful if you want to report an abuse.1 – Open AOL Instant messenger and sign into your account.
2 – Connect with the target (person whose IP address you want) through Webcam.
3 – Invite the target for a Webcam session. You will be able to trace the target’s IP only if she accepts this invitation.
4 – Click the Windows “Start” button, go to “Accessories,” and click “Command Prompt.” This opens Windows Command Prompt window, a black background window with the prompt blinking.
5 – Type “netstat-an” in the Command Prompt window. Press “Enter.” The window will now display a list of all IP connections currently active on your PC. IP address, hostname, port and other such details will be displayed in the list.
6 – Find port 4443 in the list of IP connections. Port 4443 is the default port of AIM. This will give you the IP address of the target.
