How to Restore a Jail Broken iPhone

How to Restore a Jail Broken iPhone

A jailbroken iPhone allows you to install applications and themes that you would normally not have access to with the stock iPhone; basically, it is a hacked iPhone. If you begin to have problems with your iPhone while it is jailbroken or if you no longer want to take the risk of having a jailbroken phone (it may be susceptible to viruses), you can restore the phone back to factory default using iTunes. This restores it to its pre-jailbroken state.
1 – Open iTunes on your computer and connect your phone to the computer using the iPhone USB cable. If you do not have iTunes, you can download it for free from the Apple website (See Resources).
2 – Click on the name of your iPhone in the left task pane. This opens a “Summary” window for your device.
3 – Click “Restore” and select “Don’t back up” from the pop-up that appears.
4 – Click “Restore” again and wait for the phone to reset. A message will appear on the computer letting you know that the phone was successfully restored.
5 – Keep your phone connected to the computer when the message “Connect to Activate” appears on the phone.
6 – Select “Set up as new iPhone” from the setup screen in iTunes on your computer to finish.
