How to Fix a Skype Audio Problem

1 – Log on to the Skype program on your computer so you can see the drop-down menus at the top of the window.
2 – Open a web browser and type in www.skype.com in the URL box at the top of the window to visit the Skype website.
3 – Click on the “Support” tab at the top on the window on the Skype website. Type in “Skype audio problems windows” in the Help search engine.
4 – Select the “Troubleshooter Call Quality” link.
5 – Answer “Yes” to the first question presented and click on the “Next” button to view the following question.
6 – Select the “Sound Set-Up Guide” link on the next question to continue to the next option.
7 – Click on the link that corresponds with the Windows program your computer is currently running, whether it is Windows Vista, XP or Linux.
8 – Follow the steps as they pertain to the program your computer is using until you have gone through all of the steps.
9 – Go back to the “Sound Set-Up Guide” link and select the “No” option if you are still having issues with your sound. Click “Next.”
10 – Download the latest version of Skype. After the download has completed sign back on to Skype and preform an audio check to see if the problem still persists.
11 – Select the “Next” button if the problem is still present and call Skype customer service for further assistance.
