How to Create Computer Recovery Point
Ever since Windows ME, the Windows family of operating systems has had a method of restoring their computers to an earlier state built right into the software: System Restore. The three most popular operating systems are Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7, and this is true of all three members of that family. Creating a restore point is an easy way to protect your computer from unwanted changes.For Windows XP and Windows Vista
1 – Ensure that you are logged into an account with administrator privileges.
2 – Click on the Start Menu, then click “All Programs,” then highlight “Accessories.”
3 – Highlight “System Tools,” then click “System Restore.”
4 – Enter the administrator password and/or offer confirmation, if prompted.
5 – Click “Create a Restore Point,” then click “Next.” Type a name for your restore point, then click “Create” to finish.
For Windows 7
1 – Ensure that you are logged into an account with administrator privileges.
2 – Right-click “Computer,” then click “Properties.” In the window that opens, click “System Protection.”
3 – Click “Create…” then enter a name for the new restore point, as above. Click “Create” to finalize the restore point creation.
